Issue
Commercial breeding facilities have long been faced with "unwanted dogs" and how to dispose of them. Most of these dogs have lived in cages their entire lives with minimal socialization and healthcare. NMDR works with commercial breeders to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome these discarded breeding dogs In addition, many people are unaware of the conditions these dogs live in, and NMDR works diligently to educate the general public about the cruel realities of the commercial dog breeding industry.
Response
In 2007, Our Founder and Executive Director Theresa Strader, along with staff, dedicated volunteers, family members and supportive donors began this mission. In 2024 with the long-time and continued support we rescued our 20,000th dog! We hold events and host educational outreach locally and throughout the Denver Metro area. We work with schools and local community businesses to get our dogs adopted and teach people about the work we do.
Please show your support by ordering a shirt and let everyone know "It was us, we let the dogs out"!
