The Amazon Rainforest, home to 1/3 of the Earth’s plant and animal species and the source of 1/5 of all its fresh water, is being lost at an alarming rate to shortsighted industrial ‘development’ projects.  Large scale agriculture, dams, roads and oil & gas pipelines are having devastating effects on indigenous communities and biodiversity.

Amazon watch is working to protect life, land and culture in the Amazon Basin by partnering with indigenous and environmental organizations in campaigns for human rights, corporate accountability and the preservation of the Amazon’s ecological systems.
