Because of their sensitivity to change, amphibians are believed to be bellwethers of ecosystem health.  Unfortunately, nearly 1/3 of the world’s amphibians are threatened by extinction due to habitat loss, disease, contamination and climate change.  

Response

The Amphibian Survival Alliance is committed to converging a diverse network of global partners with one goal: to protect amphibians and their habitats.  Through the preservation of core amphibian habitat and strategies to mitigate the other threats the ASA is working to ensure that frogs, salamanders and caecilians thrive in healthy ecosystems around the world for future generations.
