Issue

Owls face many challenges in the wild. Along with habitat loss, rodenticide and pesticide poisoning is another leading cause of the decline in many raptor species worldwide. Owls are very vulnerable to rodenticide poisoning, particularly in Barn Owls whose numbers have declined drastically in many parts of the U.S.

All About Owls advocates using a non-toxic Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach to rodent control, including encouraging beneficial predators, like owls, to help control the rodent population naturally. Installing an owl nesting box is one way to encourage rodent control by providing a safe owl nesting spot.

Response

All About Owls mission is to inspire responsible environmental stewardship in our community through educational presentations with our two, non-releasable owls, help with hands-on conservation efforts, and provide guidance on how to safely install owl nesting boxes on your property for natural rodent control. AAO provides low-cost owl presentations to our community to educate about our local owl species and to inspire the children of today to become the responsible environmentalists of tomorrow.
