Issue

Scientists say that the earth is undergoing a sixth mass extinction event right now. Habitat loss, over-consumption, pollution are causing plants, animals, and fish to vanish at an alarming rate. In the United States alone, scientists estimate that more than 500 species have disappeared in the past 200 years.

Response

The Endangered Species Coalition works through grassroots organizing to identify and mobilize activists and organizations to protect our nation’s disappearing wildlife and last remaining wild places. ESC aims to preserve and maintain the protections provided by the Endangered Species Act for thousands of plant and animal species, like the grizzly bear, that continue to face threats that jeopardize their continued survival.
