Causes - Action Against Hunger
Issue
Poor nutrition causes nearly half of deaths in children under five globally – that’s 3.1 million children each year. One out of six children -- roughly 100 million -- in developing countries is dangerously underweight. But together we can end world hunger.
Response
Action Against Hunger saves the lives of severely malnourished children while helping vulnerable communities become self-sufficient. With more than 5,500 staff in 45 countries, our programs in nutrition, food security and livelihoods, and water, sanitation, and hygiene reached more than nine million people last year.
