For Love Of All Things

Issue

One hundred years ago there were an estimated 100,000 Asian elephants in Thailand alone.  Today, their numbers have declined to 3,500-5000 due to a multitude of threats ranging from the desire for ivory to the loss of habitat.  The notion of extinction is no longer just a concern; it is the new reality.

Response

Boon Lott’s Elephant Sanctuary (BLES) strives to rescue and protect the elephants of Thailand from abuse and ultimate extinction.  BLES allows rescued elephants to interact and live their lives in a safe, natural environment where elephants can act like elephants!
