Causes - Save the Elephants

It is thought that around 450,000 African Elephants exist in the wild today.  At the current rate of at least 33,000 elephants killed each year for their tusks to feed the demand for ivory, wild elephant populations are at risk of being lost within our generation. “Elephants cannot be manufactured. Once they’re gone, they cannot be replaced.” —Dr. Iain Douglas-Hamilton, DPhil, CBE, Founder and CEO of Save the Elephants

Save the Elephants is working to secure a future for elephants and to sustain the beauty and ecological integrity of the places they live; to promote man’s delight in their intelligence and the diversity of their world, and to develop a tolerant relationship between the two species.
