The reservation communities of the Lakota people often suffer from energy poverty and a lack of the necessary resources to stay warm and fulfill basic human needs.
Trees, Water & People’s Tribal Renewable Energy Program puts the power of nature – the warmth of the sun, the power of the wind, the shelter of the trees – to work for Native Americans. TWP builds and installs solar heaters, provides green job training and plants windbreak and shade trees around homes.
