While dogs, cats, and horses are beloved in the U.S., cow, pigs, chickens, and other farmed animals live miserable lives and die terrifying deaths in slaughterhouses. Many cannot turn around or stretch their wings. If the anti-cruelty laws that protect pets were applied to farmed animals, many of the most routine U.S. farming practices would be illegal.

Vegan Outreach persuades people to choose a more compassionate way of eating through the millions of booklets they personally hand out at schools and other venues. Vegan Outreach travels to remote areas that are not otherwise reached. Their vegan mentor program, comprised of 200 mentors, supports people making the switch.Issue
