For Love Of All Things

Issue

Gray Wolves were once the most widely distributed mammals, inhabiting most of the available land in the northern hemisphere.  Destruction of habitat and human persecution, however, have made the Mexican Gray Wolf and the Red Wolf among the rarest mammals in North America with both species at one time being completely extinct in the wild.

Response

The Wolf Conservation Center is promoting wolf conservation by teaching about wolves, their relationship to the environment and the human role in protecting their future.  WCC also participates in the Species Survival Plan and Recovery Plan for the critically endangered Mexican Gray Wolf and Red Wolf.
